Football games don’t come much bigger than FIFA, and last year’s entry in the series definitely hit the back of the net.
But with the new season upon us and the transfer window all but over, it’s time for EA Sports’ behemoth of a franchise to return to our PlayStation and Xbox consoles.
The game’s ultimate rival, PES is set to launch on September 14, and reports are already coming in that Konami’s sports sim is shaping up nicely.
So what can FIFA 18 pull out of the bag in order to compete for gamers’ hard-earned cash? We’ve taken a look at everything we know about FIFA 18 ahead of kick-off on September 29.
This year’s FIFA entry will lace up its boots and trot out onto the pitch on exactly the same day as last year’s entry – September 29.
The game will be available to buy in-store and online. You can expect the traditional midnight opening times usually reserved for big game releases to be in place for the launch as well.
If you’re really desperate, you can already pre-order the title now from GAME to make sure you get a copy on launch day.
The standard edition of FIFA 18 will set you back a tidy £49.99 – no matter whether you opt for the PS4, Xbox or Nintendo Switch version.
As ever, there are some additional versions of the game that will cost a little bit more.
The Ronaldo Edition features 3-day early access, 20 premium gold packs a loan of the game’s cover star for 5 FIFA Ultimate Team matches and 8 specual edition FIFA Ultimate Team kits. For the extra goodies, you’re looking at a cover price of £69.99 for both Xbox and PS4.
Alternatively, you can really push the boat out and get all that, plus a football graced with Pele’s signature, a one-month pass for NOW TV, a FIFA 18 Ultimate Team jersey and a FIFA 18 football book for £99.99.
If a place sells video games, chances are it’ll be selling FIFA. The footy franchise is one of the biggest in gaming and retailers will be looking to cash in on the success.
We’ll have a special article dedicated to the best FIFA 18 deals as soon as we know more.

Who’s on the cover?
Who else could it be but Cristiano Ronaldo?
The Portuguese said it was a “real pleasure” being picked by EA Sports following a sensational last season in Real Madrid white.
Aaron McHardy, Senior Producer for the company said: “The world’s best player has helped fuel the biggest leap forward on the pitch that we’ve ever delivered.
“We are extremely excited to partner with Cristiano – working with him we learned a lot about his unique play style and what makes him so special. His passion, energy and global fanbase make him the perfect ambassador for FIFA 18.”
